We're not talking about the compression seal on the bottom of the injector, but the fuel seal higher up, although we're thinking of the older model so not applicable to this car.
Anyway it does sound like air ingress to the fuel system, you need to be checking where all the joints and seals are, filter housing etc.
Can you fit a clear fuel feed pipe to the filter housing, you might see if air appears as it drains back
