Found a poorly fitted push fit connector in the return fuel lines and a broken vac pipe to the air mass meter and both were repaired at the same time.

When driven now misfire has moved back up the rev range lowest point being from about 3500 rpm to 5000.
Only code recorded now is the P1181 High pressure which can be seen in live data when the car misses. Fuel pressure being recorded at 1800 bar rather then the specified 1600. If fuel pressure stays high for too long engine shuts down and ignition has to be cycled to try and restart.
