Hi Guys,
Vehicle now back with customer with a suitable bill. He called me at 6:45 just as I was locking up to go and recover him from 5 miles away, he obviously thought Autoelectrician abbreviated to AA!
Back to the fuel. On the left was fresh fuel drawn directly from the forecourt pump. In the middle is an original sample drawn through the fuel filter and on the right is the same fuel photographed earlier, the water in the bottom is where I drained the filter checking for metallic debris and water. In retrospect I should have drained it into a different container, too late now. The strange thing is left open to atmosphere it has cleared whereas the sealed sample has not.
It also turns out that the fuel my friend drained from his vehicle came from the other filling station in the town not the one my customer used. These samples are Esso, the other filling station is Harvest. It also appears that the fuel in the 25 litre drums is clearing slowly.
Sorry about the image size, tinypic seems to throw a strop when I ask it to resize!
