I suppose the best thing to do is test the supply voltage and earth to the CKP sensor when its a non starter or poor starter.

This should then at least rule out a supply/earth issue.

Could you do a capture from cranking upto idle when its in a starting mode, also maybe disable it so it doesn't start, then you can get a capture just cranking and see what the switching voltage is then.
