Turns out it had been leaking at 2 injector seats and bodies for quite some time. So much so that 3 of the injectors and glow plugs where buried in solid diesel/coal up to the valve cover, (should have walked awaythen never seen anything like it). Any way it is for a dealer who gives us a fair bit of work.
So long story short: Seized injectors completely US, seized glow plugs two snapped, very deep, drilled out and heli-coiled. Head off - decoke, lap in valves, new headset, new inlet manifold, new injectors - clamps - anti-vibration, new glow plugs, new high pressure rail sensor, o/f oil change, new fuel filter. The injectors had no coding ref numbers on them so we have not done this - would this cause non start?
Now it won't start: no codes on verus, one code for thermo-plunger relay on Launch X431 no EOBD codes (code to follow left print out at work)
First few cranks and we get a little cough and a little partially burnt fuel out of the tailpipe whilst cranking.
This is what we know so far: all at cranking speed
12v ECU drops to 10v cranking even with jump battery attached
Fuel rail pressure at cranking 286-315 bar
RPM @ cranking wavers 180-260
Fuel amount controller -200 - -260
loop difference rail pressure @ KOEO -300 don't know what this means but drops to -6552 at first turn of the engine.
Double checked valve timing
15-30 psi at the low pressure pump.
Have scoped injectors and have an strange pattern that we can't interpret. Attached. showing live, earth and amps.
Whilst writing this I am thinking is it the erratic cranking speed causing this situation. Starter? Timing?
or is it and injector control fault.
We have done quite a few problem common rails Renaults and won but found it nigh on impossible to find the correct reference data
for this one, AD no good, difficult to find any scope reference files or good injector control.
Any insight into this beast would be appreciated.
Rechecked belt timing today - it was spot on.
Can it be 180 out even when pinned? The crank pin seems to locate in a hole on crank web rather then rest against it as some do.
It will run on a sniff of the good stuff.
Still getting that crazy injector pattern double checked with supplier that we have correct injectors. (yes we have)
Can anyone supply me with ECU pin out data for this beast AD have none.
