Hello guys

I have a problem with this as most off my diagnostic kit has been sent away for repair & what i have got wouldn't go into this so I had to borrow another garages.Recovered vehicle after it shuddered to a stop, first checked cam-belts (as I had fitted them less than a year ago) all ok so started engine. It wouldn't rev & smoked badly. Found intake butterfly was being sucked shut so removed vacuum pipe. It then ran reasonably well. Also found rev counter not working but had revs showing on scanner. Tried another crank sensor with no difference. I think the rev counter is running from the diesel pump but can't find a wiring diagram. I may be wrong but i think the ecu is seeing a problem with the fuel pump and shutting the engine power down by closing the intake flap. Any suggestions welcome,
