This thread highlights the need for technicians to study, be it via training, or actively seeking info to fill the gaps.
The very first Common Rail course I attended with James Dillon (in 2008) was very informative for sure, but to expect that "it alone" is enough to keep me up to speed, would be a mistake. I suspect that the Bosch courses have also evolved massively since your last attendance.
Much reading & yes, even googling is needed to keep up. Common rail technology has been around for over a decade now (in light vehicle form at least) & as we all know, technology just doesn't stand still. Diesel Particulate Filtration Technology is a fine example of the evolution.
