Hi Kev , I always search the archives (on a couple of forums) before posting, nothing conclusive was found. Knowing which keyword to use seems to work wonders. 'AVF'shows 9 results, none of which are applicable to the fault I have. 'Passat'brings over 100, of these most are not applicable, the rest show remedies that have already been tried. If you have a link to a relevant post it would be much appreciated.

Not expecting a silver bullet, but would appreciate any help from someone that has had a similar fault.
