That as well, don't rev the engine until you have had a look at the turbo - if the compressor has dropped, the oil is pulled into the combustion chamber, the cylinders hydraulic & the con rods bend.
Turbo's are weak & break as Lee says - if you find the turbo is shot the oil needs to be removed from the intercooler / pipework or you can end up doing the job again.
