I have disconnected the battery and left a jumper lead connected to the cables to drain all the capasitors.The fuel filter was pre-filled with fuel before fitting.The battery is off the vehicle now being charged overnight before i tackle it at stupid o'clock in the morning!
I am sure the fault lies with the low voltage to the supply to ecu. The wiring diagram shows the same relay powers other things also (i don't remember which at the moment) but in the morning i will find out and test those as well. I have just subscribed to the Renault technical information website so i will try that tomorrow.
