406R = remodel i think (well its a face lift model) and if you check the photo of the 406 and 406R on selection of each you can see the different grill etc.
Auto light problem could be the grey plug or pins connection on comm 2000 unit, or/and a corroded connection block under the carpet by the accelerator pedal.
