I did my homework and then after some testing proved that the wiring between the ECU and the boost control solonoid was sound by supplying my own independant earth and feed from the ECU multiplug. I even generated some vacuum with a pump and observed the turbo actuator moving in and out. The solenoids wiring has 17 ohms resistance icluding the loom.
After a smoke test and checking of the boost pressure sensor I opted for an ECU test but it tested as OK.
Unlike most petrol engine ECU's both the feed and earth are supplied to the solenoid. There is no 12 volts supplied from this ECU as if it has turned it off.
I can not understand this. Have read the archives and eliminated, fuses, wiring faults under radiator, split vac hoses and leaking heater controls.
Can anyone suggest why if the ECU is not faulty it should turn off the supply to this solenoid ?
Via live data the boost sensor reads 1000Mbar ign on, 990 idle and 960 3000 rpm which is hardly any boost. I dont know if that is to be expected along with the other issues.
Thanks.
