As a result of an archaeological excavation I have an earthenware shard with a blue transfer print of flowers. On the reverse side, fortunately, is the Davenport 101-139 Davflower vase mark.
However this floral image does not match with floral design on the plate with the Davenport 101-139 Davflower vase mark (in the database). I have searched the database for similar floral images to no avail.
Since the floral design is opposite the Davenport mark i.e. on the reverse side, the floral design should be centrally positioned on the plate.
The shard appears to have come from a dinner service that arrived in Australia by 1839, based on the few shards still existing.
URLs of the images of the Davenport mark and of the floral decoration for member’s consideration are below. Or do we have another unnamed floral design by Davenport?

Hi John,
I would like to see photos of the shard and mark, so I actually created a Google account to see the album. After all that I was denied access to your photo album, so now I am trying to delete the Google account. Please just post pictures on the Message Board site for us or send to my email address. The Davenport firm was very good at marking their wares, but there are many patterns that were never marked as to pattern name. We assign TCC names to some to help members search. If you search in the database clicking on 'maker': Davenport and 'category': Floral and Botanical (no sub-category needed, you will be able to look through the patterns we have in the database that might be the one you are looking for.

John, this seems like a really interesting item. It would be best to post your images to flickr or one of the other non-password requiring free sites. You can also send the images directly to our webmaster (see directions on the DB entry page) and she will post them (although with the Holidays, there may be a delay).
