Joan, actually, it is one tile, which can be rotated 90 degrees four times. You can see all four orientations on the fire place surround. Thus, as was common on walls, four tiles can be combined into one, essentially, which can be repeated as far as space permits. See image below. It's a lovely pattern, I only wish we had it already in the Database, and could then have provided you with more information. BTW, our former DB editor, Connie Rogers, and another member, previously created quite a few beautiful tile patterns using tiles from the DB. Many of the examples digitally aggregate the single tile into groups of four.
