Re: Enoch Wood & Wedgwood
This pattern is # 2461 "River Scene with Tower House" in the DB. Pictured in the DB is a blue plate but the pattern is the same. I searched under "man fishing" and "Josiah Wedgwood" in the pulldown makers menu. Wood may have made similar borders, but the DB identifies this one as "Floral and Botanical/Floral/Blue Rose Border Series: Wedgwood". Further, the Wedgwood mark on the reverse is impressed. Occasionally one maker might have sold a bisque item to another to complete, but I find it very unlikely in this case. That tower architecture certainly is uncommon. With that foot rim and shape, I would guess this is not a plate but perhaps the under tray for a square bowl. I have no idea what the other impressed mark means.
