In the section "Registration Diamonds & Numbers" on thepotteries.org website it indicates that the bottom number for diamond registry marks (1842-1867) "tells us how many items were included in the registration, (sometimes known as bundles or packages)". What exactly does this mean? Are they items by the same manufacturer, essentially a different version of a pattern or shape? In a list of registered patterns for Clementson's Dec 2, 1842 entry, the patent numbers are listed as 2599-2600. It appears that one is missing if he registered a third item. Some patterns in the list have parcel/bundle numbers up to 27. Any ideas on how the parcel/bundle number was assigned or exactly what it means?
