Rob, this is a really nice looking piece. However, one of our extremely knowledgable members sent me the following note providing her opinion, which I quote: "There is no such Staffordshire pottery with G H initials. I have looked through Godden, Henrywood’s Potters book, etc. including Kovels, thinking it might be a foreign mark. The closer I look at it, the more I think it is a repro. There have been a lot of willow platters, nicely potted with a similar looking lion on the mark. The back of the piece looks new."
