To the best of my knowledge, and someone please correct me if I’m wrong, only three TDCJ facilities have been named after employees that were killed by inmates. Those are the Minne Houston Training Academy, the Pack Unit and the Choice Moore unit. Speaking of which, the Wallace Pack story is very INTERESTING. If you know the Wallace Pack story you are left scratching your head, on that one.
Stanley Wiley, David Nagle, Timothy Davison, Guy Holman, Benjamin LaRue, Major Crowson, Susan Canfield, Julia Standley, as well as many others, were murdered by inmates and the board names prisons and facilities after former board members, politicians and TDCJ administrators. That, in and of itself, speaks volumes. It’s blatant disrespect. It’s the equivalent of urinating on the graves of those employees, in my eyes.
Some gave their lives. Others gave nothing.
