Just a reminder. Brian Collier, Oscar Mendoza, the regional directors, most Wardens, and most supervisors don't care if one of us correctional officers dies. I don't want to hear from the butt kissers and hear them say that they do. If this cesspool did they would have done something about staffing levels, security issues, vehicle issues, and crumbling infrastructure by now. Seems all they care about is that check on the first. Judas is a word that aptly describes them.

Prince Daemon, you are correct. Let’s add the board members names to your list, as well. After all, they promoted the guy and they have allowed him to remain in power. Your life holds less value than a 20 year old state vehicle, with a torn seat, a leaking exhaust, no A/C and 400,00 miles on the odometer, in the eyes of the guy and his cronies.
To the best of my knowledge, and someone please correct me if I’m wrong, only three TDCJ facilities have been named after employees that were killed by inmates. Those are the Minne Houston Training Academy, the Pack Unit and the Choice Moore unit. Speaking of which, the Wallace Pack story is very INTERESTING. If you know the Wallace Pack story you are left scratching your head, on that one.
Stanley Wiley, David Nagle, Timothy Davison, Guy Holman, Benjamin LaRue, Major Crowson, Susan Canfield, Julia Standley, as well as many others, were murdered by inmates and the board names prisons and facilities after former board members, politicians and TDCJ administrators. That, in and of itself, speaks volumes. It’s blatant disrespect. It’s the equivalent of urinating on the graves of those employees, in my eyes.
Some gave their lives. Others gave nothing.

I was told over thirty years ago by a retired E-10 in the Navy if you’re unhappy with what you are doing find something else. He was an instructor at a C school I was attending. If it’s so bad it’s controlling your happiness and making you miserable find something else that makes you happy. This agency has been this way for a long time and it hasn’t changed to much. I started in 95 and have been retired working in the private sector for a few years. There is a life outside of TDCJ.

IM NOT AN ASS KISSER BUT I DO BELIEVE THAT THESE GUYS CAN'T MAKE PEOPLE COME TO WORK. THEY ARE RAISING SALARIES TO GET PEOPLE HERE BUT THEY JUST ARENT COMING TO WORK. THEY CAN'T DO IT FOR THEM. I KNOW THERE ARE INFRASTRUCTURE ISSUES, BUT WE NEED STAFF FIRST AND FOREMOST. THEY DO NEED TO REEVALUATE THE BUDGET FOR THE UNITS TO GET THEM FIXED THATS FOR SURE.

You are a buttkisser. Sorry if you think otherwise. If this was such a great job, people would be falling over each other to come here. TDCJ wouldn't have to have ridiculous recruitment ads and videos. Word of mouth goes a long ways. Think of a business that is ran smoothly and appreciates their employees. They have no problems getting good talent.
