Dave, BTW, ALWAYS run with a safety gap that's directly connected across your pig HV output. The safety gap will prevent accidental overvolting/destruction of your tank cap in case of accidental mistuning, unexpected 60 Hz resonance effects, and accidental disconnection or excessive gap settings of your main gap. Consider it cheap insurance.. :^) Play safely, -- Bert --

The case, the innermost primary turn on your Tesla Coil, and the bottom of your TC secondary winding should all be connected together and tied to your independent RF ground. Do NOT connect the case of the pig to your incoming power earth/ground. It's not necessary to do any modifications to your pig. You may want to elevate your HV lines off the floor to reduce corona. Your HV line has a bit of HV RF on it in addition to being ~15 kV RMS above ground, so corona is to be expected in your present configuration. Some coilers make 3-4" insulators using pieces of LDPE or HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) material to keep HV feedwires from the transformer off the ground. Ceramic standoff insulators (like those used to support bus bars in substations) also will work. Good luck and best regards, -- Bert --
