another grounding question , (single bushing Xfrmer )......
Posted by dave on 12/7/2004, 9:53 pm
Hi, Is ( earth ground ) ok for the tank of a single bushing pig ? Its tied to the same ground as the coil. Im thinking a "floating " output (two bushing ) would be better ???its just me, this grounding thing has me in a tizzy : ( I could open the Xfrmer and disconnect the from the case and add another bushing, or maybe its not worth it.........I ran the coil and seems to work fine, although I set a safty gap at 3/8" - 1/2" and it would fire, Im running a static gap, so I thought it was safe to just eliminate it. The power feed line from my trans is on the concrete floor, and I can see corona glow . Its 15kv sign wire inside a glass tube, and still glows, is this the norm ???Thanks for all your help !!!!!!!!,dave
