I suggest taking the animal to a vet familiar with small mammals. It's very difficult to tell from your description what the cause of not eating might be.
Some questions that might help to give more hints are:
What species is the animal? Has the particular animal undergone torpor in previous years? What are the temperature and humidity condition of the enclosure/cage? Have these changed recently? Is the animal held under seasonally changing climatic rhythms (mimicking climatic changes in the natural habitat)? Have you tried different foods, including other live insects like crickets, locusts, cockroaches? Is the animal active and appears healthy except for not feeding? Do you keep other tenrecs except for this one animal? If yes, are they in the same room and same enclosure and same environmental
conditions? Any abnormalities of teeth or jaw?

I have a Tenrec of about 4 years old she is on Canin Kitten kibbles dry and loves her water also loved her meal worms.. I am worried as she has not eaten meal worms for a week.. But only eating a few dry Royal kibble and water.. I am very worried she weights 170g..
