The People's Forum: Dyche does deserve credit for that, absolutely

Benitez and Lampard both rushed DCL back too quickly and made his injury problems worse. Dyche made sure he was ready and between him and Thelwell brought in backup. And Dyche put complete faith in him when fit - it's just that the way we set up meant few chances, Dom not always being in the right areas when they did come and the ones he did get he fluffed.

I think Moyes handing Beto his chance and him scoring 5 in 4 games was the beginning of the end. Not sure if there was an offer on the table for DCL but I'd imagine if there was, it fell well short of what he was after.

2 seasons ago both DCL and Chris Wood had similar non penalty Xg

Chris Wood's was 11.9 and he scored 14
DCL's was 11.4 and he scored 5

DCL had chances he just rarely converted them

12 non penalty goals in the last 4 seasons

the injuries and being asked to carry almost the entire attacking burden on his own under Dyche have really stalled his career, of which he realistically has perhaps 3-5 years at this kind of level. If he can settle somewhere else quickly and perhaps bag some goals early on, he can get back on track.
