Col made the point below in particular re Alcaraz linking up particularly well with Beto.
But if we end up with Harrison and Doucoure level of “creativity” then he will instead be exposed.
I think he’s earned his chance. And don’t underestimate the importance of an emerging “connection” between Beto and the fans. I sense there is real desire for him to do well, his attitude is appreciated. Previous Message
…..if he leaves on a free I reckon it will cost us more to replace him than if he stayed, unless we have some other out of contract striker lined up.
Agree with both of you on Beto. Someone else whose opinion I rate ( not a blue ) also reckons he might get 20 next season if used correctly. Previous Message
...I love that he's making himself more and more unsellable with each goal, good for him!
A penny for DCL's thoughts, having declined the contract offer some time ago, and now perhaps wondering where he might end up next season.
I still think Beto's all round play is below what we ultimately need; the teams chasing the higher European places wouldn't have a Beto, but Rome wasn't build in a day etc, so I can definitely see him with us for a couple of years, at the very least putting competitive pressure on a first-choice replacement for DCL, or indeed making himself undroppable as well as unsellable. has scored 8 in 13 starts
DCL 4 in 19
keep Beto he may be limited but scores and is a great presence
I am amazed its up for debate.
