Never take a chance. Food spoilage happens with all kinds of foods. I've had it happen to meats and lettuce. In fact I bought some packaged lettuce mix for salads. I opened it and it was very wet. I tasted it and it tasted funny so I threw it out. I think it was frozen and then thawed out and then spoiled. Just that tiny taste was enough to make me sick. And I was sick for 3 days. I'm very leery of these salad mixes in bags.
