H ~ Sue, there was a Quarter Moon in Sept. and then on Oct. 2nd. it was a New Moon

and on Oct. 10th will be the Half Moon and on Oct. 17th will be a Super Full Moon and then Oct. 24th will be the 3rd. Quarter Moon

I have no idea why many would believe the Moon disappeared, it always goes through it's Moon phases every month.
