When I was 18 months old, my 6 yr old sister drowned at a lake my parents and lots of friends had cabins. WE had lessons as we were old enough, she knew how to swim but stepped into a deep hole just walking on the water line.

Until I left for college, my Mom was with us when we went swimming at hotels mostly, some homes. No one minded her being along and the other parents welcomed her. It was a way of life for me and no burdens.
