Related to Ace's "arrest them" thread. I'll give them credit for not using a bunch of weasel words or vague language. I bolded some that presumably would require amendments. Most others would obviously face major legal challenges, such as reparations.

Seems like Spain should give all that back to Morocco, Britain should give Gibraltar back to Spain

I have met more conservative people who are open to other ideas than leftists. I have talked to a lot of people in recent times, and I am seeing more and more people who like me are voting GOP because the left is gone.

Don't people realize that the only way things get done and this country prospers is if we put differences aside and work together? John Fetterman is a classic case of this. Today he was the only Democrat to admonish Fauci. How any Democrat could sit up there and not admonish Fauci for his performance is beyond me.

When I was growing up, a guy my dad worked with had a son my age who played baseball for one of the Hinsdale area high schools. He was really good. All-everything in school. He later walked on at Arizona State and was blown away by how much better all of the scholarship players were. I think he hung around as a bench warmer for just a year or two.

Like the work week above, AI and robots are going to drive the price of healthcare(along with every good) down significantly in the next decade. We have the money to pay for universal healthcare now, but our politicians just choose to spend it on israel and launder it instead. It's also an expense that could easily be reformed and lessened in it's current state if we didn't have a corrupt govt. propping up the status quo of the system. If we actually had a govt. that wasn't corrupt and inept, health care would be a very logical industry to nationalize, cut costs, and expand care. You may not agree with this, but you're already paying for universal healthcare for millions(the majority) of Americans anyway...you may as well include yourself in it as well and make the care better by fixing the system.

Different idea: take as many people (and land) that's now in the northeastern DC areas and push them into Maryland. Then redistribute the House members as usual after the census.

After initially hating RCV...I've grown to like it after like 20 years of voting in it. Also...I'm not sure if "public financing of all elections" is the right way to go, but getting the cost of elections down and getting dark money out of them is something I think that is a worthwhile goal.

But, for example I may have an idea candidate and a candidate I can live with and a candidate I can't stand at all.

In winner takes all, I'd need to vote for the ONE I can live with instead of my actual preferred candidate.

In RCV, I can vote my heart and vote for my first choice candidate then my "can live with candidate 2nd" realizing my first candidate will get elimated in the first round of two of tabulations and my vote will then fall with who I could live with.

I'd never cast a vote for the candidate I couldn't stand as I wouldn't want my vote to eventually fall to them.

But all in all, my vote went to the practical candidate while in the first round of tabulations my vote was recorded for posterity for the candidate that I actually preferred.

I like it.
