Last week there was a fatal car crash at the entrance to my neighborhood

The guy hit a tree. The thing is it was completely engulfed in flames almost immediately, the tree was on fire and everything. Per the pictures the car/suv is not identifiable, a real mess. It’s looking like it was one of those EV fires though. Next day debris was like a tiny airplane crash site- tire strewn, entire spot charred. The guy lived barely a mile away, so he had to be familiar with the road. We are thinking maybe deer avoidance.

Now it’s become a memorial site with flowers and wreaths. I feel really bad for his family.

One might think the car vehicle was going too slowly for that*

Kind of rural-ish (at least it used to be rural) road. At night the smarter folk stay under the speed limit because of the deer.

An old family farm that years ago was converted into a small subdivision. Kind of rural. The turn into the subdivision off of the fast moving state highway kind of sneaks up on you. Often find myself having to hit the breaks. And lots of deer in the area.

That allow animals. Horses, cows. I’ve never seen cows but my friend who lives just outside my neighborhood had cows wander up to her house before. Apparently our neighborhood was a horse farm before, there tons of other neighborhoods along the same road that idk what they were. Another horse farm just sold out and became a neighborhood just a couple years ago. Another like animal care facility but they always have something grazing outside. Alpaca or something. I’ve long become blind to it so I don’t even know. This is all along a short stretch of the same road I’m talking about.
