NYC and California are beacons in this country. Crown jewels, the absolute best we have to offer. There is a market price for this. That market price is the tax rate. They have overshot it by a wide margin in California. New York, I'm not so sure they overshot it, there's a price of poker to be there and taxing non-owner occupied high end housing isn't the end of the world.
