There are tons of really good and fascinating books about this theory

Gladwell's Outliers is entertaining and the gateway to the theory, but the research of Anders Erikson and the other books really provide incredible insight into what it really takes to achieve greatness in an activity. There is no such thing as natural greatness. The general public just assumes that great athletes are genetically lucky and "naturally gifted"....and while genetics certainly does give some a leg up in certain activities (especially things like sprinting or distance running.), 90% of greatness is determined by nurture over nature. Here is a great list of books on the subject if anyone wants a Master's level education on the subject: Outlier - Gladwell Peak Performance - Brad Stulberg The Best - Mark WIlliams Mindset - Carol Dweck Make It Stick - Peter C Brown Range - David Epstein Do Hard Things - Steve Magness The Performance Cortex - Zach Schonbrun The Rise of Superman - Steven Kotler Peak - Robert Pool & Anders Ericcson Edure - Alexander Hutchenson Bounce - Matthew Syed The Talent Code - Daniel Coyle Mastery - Robert Greene Talent is Overrated - Geoff Colvin The Sports Gene - David Epstein
