She has to find the section, browse alphabetically, remember if she already has the album or not, etc. I showed her how to start up our receiver and turntable so she doesn't damage it.
My hope is that it's a bonding experience for us that will transcend age and even when she's an angsty teen she'll still want to go record shopping with dad.
Plus, someone has to eventually inherit my collection. It'll likely be her.

I'm not exactly an audiophile but even I consider this a failure as a parent.

For instance, 23 years between this song and Aerosmith. Eagles did "Please Come Home For Christmas" 18 years after the original. Obviously both songs are written in different genre's than the cover band usually plays.
And to bring it (kinda) full circle, from Wiki:
"Big Ten Inch Record", also known as "Big Ten-Inch (Record of the Blues)", is a rhythm and blues song written by Fred Weismantel. It was first recorded in 1952 by Bull Moose Jackson and released by King Records, originally on 10" 78 , the most popular format at the time.
I kinda wondered how many people here would realize there was ever a 78 speed.
