I this woman is a doctor. An MD. So in her mind this man with a clearly latino name mentioned EBT. She automatically thinks he's making a joke about the government shutdown and SNAP and doesn't think that's funny.

Without for one fucking second stopping to say "Hey maybe this guy wants to actually use his EBT card. Because I send my kid to a school with economically disadvantaged people. Huh. Maybe I should just not type that."
