I definitely want to avoid shuttles and the plebes. I try to avoid LAX at all costs and have avoided it for probably at least 12 years, but this trip the times in and out made it impossible to avoid. SNA is my go to and so easy to get in and out of.  Previous Message
i've done that route many times.
As far as transpo is concerned, pony up the bucks and hire a limo/black car/black suv. It's worth the added expense. The upscale Ubers can pick you up at the terminal. The regular ubers have a pick up area that you have to walk to/shuttle.
But if you hire a car/suv they can wait for you at the luggage pick up and have a cart for the luggage and such.
That would be my choice.
