Re: Player power - theory

Last night the pitch looked enormous - larger than ours, but I could be wrong - partly because the Stadium is bigger than ours. Walsall would be used to this if I am correct and would adjust their play accordingly, such as when attempting a long and accurate Pass. Our Players were running about like foreigners in the Desert but Walsall were playing fine. Next - I keep noticing that our squad has a few Players of relatively small stature and these are being knocked about quite a bit. Fondop should have started against Walsall. We played better in the 2nd Half - why? Walsall had a very good Goalkeeper and ours likes to stand on his Line and hardly ever comes out to defend his Box. Their Goalkeeper made a Pass that led to a Goal, partly because our Defence didn't see that coming. Our Goalkeeper shouts at his Defence but also needs to take some blame. Walsall played very well from each Kick Off and deserved to win. Correct me if I am wrong but we only played two Subs. - something wrong about that and my best guess is that we have a weak Bench. Peters is not fit, not sure about others. Gus Scott-Morris is stealing a wage. Our Defence is average. Our Strikers average. Midfield average. Goalkeeper is average and doesn't like getting knocked about - lightweight but tall. We can't play well if we have to play two matches per week. Inconsistency is the problem and the Manager can't work out why - or so he keeps saying. Our Away Supporters turned up again last night in poor weather and deserve a medal each. We couldn't score last night - familiar? Walsall used all their Reserves 2nd Half - fresh legs. MM - who knows what goes through his head other than wind?
