1) Removed from the Premier League (they will start all over from League Two). I've been advocating for something big like this to happen to bring football back in line again!
2) Strip off of all Domestic trophies won (Premier league, FA cup and Carabao cup)
3) Huge fine and points deduction
4) Face a Ban on transfers for 5 straight seasons.
City's most recently published wage bill, for the 2024/25 season, amounted to £408.4 million. It has been estimated that City may be forced into paying upwards of £500m in compensation - relating to prize money dependent on league finishes - to other sides who featured in the Premier League during the aforementioned timescale.
19 of the sides who have competed in the Premier League from their first title-winning season of 2011/12 to 2025/26 currently reside in the Championship or League One, and if this scenario came to fruition, they could be owed significant fees.
The most money could go to West Ham United, with the figure coming in at £28.08m. They were mainstays in the Premier League throughout City's era of dominance, having won the Championship play-offs in 2012 before even going on to finish as high as sixth in the 2020/21 season. However, the Hammers were relegated last season at the expense of local rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, despite accruing a rather high points total of 39.
What do you think should happen?
