In the good old days the Match Commentator was "One of us" - he was watching the Match and telling us what was going on in real time. Nowadays it's all about the Players' lives and history - not the Match being played and it drives me insane. You must have heard the guy on TV that persists (only recently) in pronouncing Wembley --- "WEMMBBERLIIII" FFS.
