It's a Mellon problem this is. Mellon jr, comes and was straight into the team. And a fantastic addition. Just as Yogi was. But Mellon has history of bringing in players, both on contract, Waters, and on loan Jalo and others, then not playing them.
He doesn't seem to have got his head round how to replace Stevens since his injury disrupted what had become the regular starting eleven when he finally found which was his best eleven and played them consistently.
The football has reverted to the pre play off surge. Because he doesn't know who to start now three or four are out. Daniels, Caprice, Stevens. Have I missed someone? He's gone back to tinkering about and changing. And why has it taken so long for him to realise that Hawke needs to start ahead of Kavanagh? This is why I remain not entirely convinced about MM.
As for them down the road. Do they let players go out on loan? I suspect if you look back at the 94 reds, most of that squad that won everything went out on loan as young players. In the past we have been more closely linked with City, I don't know, what it is. Another PL trait? We don't loan players? They might get damaged.
