I realised that, but thought I’d leave it in anyway. 😂 Slight diversion but a chance to reminisce, I did my time as a kid playing on the old cinder pitches. There was one off Block Lane another down Denton Lane, both Chadderton. A couple off Broadway. I recall there was also one down Holllinwood near Ferraris by the canal.. Sliding tackles weren’t such a good idea on those old cinder pitches. Come to think of it falling over wasn’t a good thing at all. There was a lot of cinder pitches post war in Oldham.
