To be honest I don’t know how the Academy system works ? Who do they play against ? The old reserves was better in my view ..was it called the central league ? Young lads could then gain experience playing against old lags who were coming back from injury or players who had been dropped …where is the benefit in playing against lads you own age all the time ..I think we’ve had this discussion on here before ..at some point a young player has got to step up to the plate!
