
Whatever is going on in his personal life is private and may have contributed in some part to his lack of goals.
There is one thing for sure though Mellon hasn’t helped him, Fondop shouldn’t be back in our box when he’s on the pitch, although I can’t deny he’s pretty good with his head when defending corners.
My personal opinion is Mellon improved Fondop immensely over the previous seasons but had destroyed his confidence this year with his public condemnations.
Give Fondop a cuddle, tell him he’s a big part of the club and is needed, play him as an out and out striker, ask him to hold the ball up and bring other players into the game. He may have one more decent season in himself if he’s played in a way that suits his style.
I would love to see Fondop and young Mellon given an extended run of say ten games but Mellon changes the side every week whether we have injuries or not. 🤷🏻♂️💙
