Seeing as unless I’ve missed the post or everyone is still in the pub celebrating I thought I’d say I thoroughly enjoyed that game today.
Very, very good performance practically all round with only the odd blip.
Fantastic over head kick from Mellon early doors and then shortly after a second that killed the game.
Every time MM lets the handbrake off we start to look a totally different team confirmed by today’s performance against a team from the division above.
Credit to all that played their part today, we were excellent to a man.
Hammond has shown in his last couple of starts there is a real player in there. Now he’s filling out physically he looks like he could become a real footballer. He has a great engine and can run all day, his pass for the third was simple but he executed it perfectly. Hope he’s here next season.
Pett was superb throughout, do we really miss Conlon that much?
Mellon never fails to surprise me, the game is won very early so why doesn't he realise we are a far better team with the ball on the deck. Every man and his dog can see it apart from him. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Well done to everyone today, looking forward to Mondays draw and hoping for Wealdstone at home and for Mellon to keep this attacking style but I’m not holding my breath.
Only the ten substitutions disrupted the game into a fractious last 15 minutes with not much skill on show, the substitutions seemed to disrupt the ref too because he was fine until the last 15 or 20 minutes and then he totally went to pot.

Happy to dump Northampton out of the cup today, I can still feel the sadness when we lost there and were relegated to the National League.
