Actually, I didn’t think Cheltenham were any worse than Bristol Rovers, when we played them. Difference being that at Bristol we were dragged down to their level. Yesterday was a convincing win, in the end. Probably not the form we would need for a promotion tilt, but good enough for a fairly comfortable mid-table. Better than we played for the majority of last season (playoffs excepted). Still need to be more clinical with scoring chances (Hitting the post is a miss). But we currently have the best defensive record in the division. Only been comprehensively outplayed once, to date, this season (v Swindon). Yesterday was the mirror image of that.
After 9 games (20% of the season), I’d say we are exactly where we deserve to be in the league. One point and four places outside the playoffs.
