I'd like a suggestion about how to remove inkblots from the barrel and the cap from vintage coloured pens. I tried a damp cloth and also a product with ammonium hydroxide and sulfactants (special for fountain pens), but without success. I tried alcohol in a cheaper pen and it was very efficient (and apparently without damages).
Is it possible to use alcohol or it's a big mistake? My pens with inkblots are two vintage Pelikans and a Parker Jr. Duofold orange.
I apologize for my English, it's not my first language.
Thanks!
