I don't like the movie, easily the least of Ophuls' output, at least in terms of what I've seen.

I've watched the film a couple of times but I seriously doubt I'll ever do so again. While none of the characters appeal, the biggest problem for me was Leonara's whiny, vacillating nature. The viewer needs to be on her side for the movie to have any meaning but the way she's written makes that practically impossible.
