Over the weekend, I attended a major league baseball game (if one can consider the Chicago White Sox major league) and ran into another noirista. we discussed the lack of information concerning the Noir City road show at the Music Box Theater. Presumably, the festival would be taking place sometime soon.

The theater venue had no information about the festival on its web site. If you searched the site there was information about the last festival held during 2023.

Apparently, the show will go on, but at much later date. Noir City lists September 6-12, 2024 as its dates, but no film schedule was provided.

The Music Box is renovating its main theater and replacing its uncomfortable seats at long last. This may account for the delay as well as the playing schedule of the Chicago Cubs. Wrigley Field is not too far from the theater and the area gets really congested when the team is playing games.

Another distinct possibility is that the program organizers wisely considered delaying the festival until the Democrat political convention concludes. The summer of love tour visits the United Center on August 19th through the 22nd.
