I wonder if one of the reasons why Scott isn't better remembered is the fact that until quite recently so many of her movies were very difficult to see, and some of those which were accessible were in such dreadful condition that it was a challenge to watch them. It's easy to drop out of the public consciousness when your work is not widely available.
