I have to agree with your speculation about the narration. It sounded robotic and I wondered if was computer generated.
The narration added nothing of value and the meager data supplied was little more than what is already widely known.
"The Strange Love of Martha Ivers," "Pitfall," and "Too Late for Tears" are among my favorite noirs.
