NIGHT TRAIN was screened at MCP's inaugural A RARE NOIR IS GOOD TO FIND series (our first foray into international noir) back in 2015.
O DRAKOS (Ogre of Athens) also screened in that same series. Of the two Greek films we had in our show last month, I think LOLA is probably more in Eddie's lane, with its night club/red light district setting. It might pair up with something like I WALK ALONE.
NIGHT TRAIN would be a great pick for Eddie, to be sure, and I suppose he might do something cute and pair it with STRANGERS ON A TRAIN.
Eddie would also do well to look at an earlier film (1956) from Kawalerowicz, CIEN (American title: SHADOWS). It almost made the cut for RARE NOIR 1, but we decided to go with as many countries as we could; it got bumped again in RARE NOIR 2 by KRAKATIT.
ROMANCE DE FIERAS certainly deserves some exposure, but my money for a Mexican film in the NC21 lineup would have to be on LA OTRA.
