Like other major cities, but it happened even quicker there, San Francisco has lost its character and exists now mainly for Silicon Valley execs, investing billionaires, and trust fund kids. I lived there from 1985 to 1989, and already then you could feel it. So nothing about this is surprising, but as a former (small town) planning commissioner, I have to say fie on the Planning Commission.
